To the leadership of National Braille Press:
We are family members, friends, former NBP employees, union siblings, authors, publishing professionals, readers, and other supporters who are proud to stand with National Braille Press workers as they organize a union with IUE-CWA Local 201.
These workers are coming together for sustainable compensation, safe and healthy working conditions, greater investment in training and staffing, opportunities for professional development, and fair and flexible working conditions.
NBP workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Their work helps make books, information, and educational materials accessible to blind and visually impaired people across the country. By investing in the workers who make that mission possible, NBP can strengthen both its workplace and the community it serves.
We urge National Braille Press to voluntarily recognize their union and meet them at the bargaining table in good faith without delay.
We are proud to support NBP workers—and look forward to continuing to support National Braille Press publications, products, and services made possible by union labor.
Signed,
